Pregnant in Nashville and Needing Resources!

Pregnancy is a joyous time but it can also be very stressful with all that you have to learn and gather for baby. Take a deep breath and relax! There are so many options out there for you.

If you have saved a little for this baby, you might consider buying a preorganized package of support services from a local birth agency like the following link, https://www.blissfulbirthingtn.com/perfect-pregnancy-package. All you have to do is say, "Yes! I want that!" and the agency will take care of all the rest. It is so easy and simple.

If you only have $100 to spend, you might think about becoming a member of Blissful Birthing. You get to work with a doula to learn, but she does not attend your birth. As a member you get:

  • Meet with a professional birth doula to create a birth plan and learn hands on comfort measures/labor positions/basic newborn care

  • Birth doula contact via email or phone through your 9 months of pregnancy to get all your questions answered

  • Access to Online childbirth class ($100 value)

  • Exclusive dad tips and what to pack in your birth bag

  • Plus, a $50 membership discount applies when you use any other Blissful Birthing services

If your budget is really tight, the next option is to get support from local resources like the following:

Mother to Mother Inc Mother To Mother is a nonprofit that provides vital health, safety and wellness items for infants and children in need by working with a special network of social workers, nurses, social service agencies and local hospitals. They distribute diapers, car seats, clothes, cribs, strollers, and other essential baby items to low-income children from newborns to age 10.

Pregnancy Care Center TN Empowers individuals to make life-affirming decisions through education, counseling, and compassionate care, based on the ministry of Jesus Christ. Pregnancy Care Center does not offer or refer for pregnancy terminations or birth control.

The Hope Center The Hope Center and Hope Food Bank are Christian based organizations.

Pregnancy Help Center The Pregnancy Help Center is a mobile facility that travels all over Nashville. In our mobile unit, we provide free pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, and pregnancy options education to women who think they may be pregnant. Our services are FREE and completely CONFIDENTIAL. No matter what you need, we are here for you.

Nashville Diaper Connection: Nashville Diaper Connection strives to ensure that every baby in Davidson County has enough diapers to stay clean, dry and healthy.

Catholic Charities: For assistance with diapers and other baby items please call our material assistance help line at 615-760-1025.

WIC: Help moms and children get the food and resources they need.

Tenncare: Insurance coverage for low income pregnant moms.

In April and May there are several baby fairs where you can learn and win some great baby prizes. The Baby Fair is probably the biggest one. Just google it and see what you come up with.

If you want a free doula while in the hospital, ask for one when you check in during labor. They are available at St. Thomas Midtown, Vanderbilt Medical Center, and Centennial Women's Medical Center. To learn more about doulas, click here.
